Raukkan Aboriginal Child Parent Centre (CPC) is located on the school site in a designated area. The CPC incorporates Occasional Care, Aboriginal 3 year old preschool program, and 4 and 5 year old program. Our preschool program acknowledges, celebrates and embraces being Ngarrindjeri through the inclusion of Ngarrindjeri language and cultural learning activities.
The RAS site is located within the Raukkan Aboriginal Community on the traditional lands of the Ngarrindjeri people, and is described as an ‘Ancient Meeting Place’. It is an historically significant place in Australian history which has been celebrated Australia-wide on the $50 note.
Raukkan School was built by Ngarrindjeri people with George Taplin, the missionary who selected Raukkan as the site for a mission, during 1859 and 1860.
